Wow:
" No donation needed"

Finally.,....

Zsync from 3.8.1 stops at 68.3% , tried twice no dice. Downloaded the whole iso. Have i really missed 11 update cycles? from 3.8.1 to 3.8.12? :pensive:

Not really you have to be an insider at the very least.

With 3.8.11 it had stopped at 93%, same problem. Then I zsynced from the partial already downloaded iso and it finished nicely. :w00t:
Obviously at 68% that wouldn't have been as useful.

My grub boot menu still shows Elive 3.8.1, I know i have upgraded but this kind of makes me feel unfulfilled

If you do "cat /etc/elive-release" you'll have more info.
It should have an "elive-fixes:" entry and ..... the name of the first user as well. :madness:

oopsie ,that's "/etc/elive-version" but .... you could've seen that yourself if you'd taken a peek in said /etc/ directory.
