That would suggest that networkmanager is not installed at all.
/etc/resolv.conf should be there in all cases to resolve names, even w.o networkmanager. Without that file it will never work other than using numerical values to I.e download network manager and install it.
Or go down memory lane and connect using the terminal to set the gateway and the name server.

Connexion ok:
I don't know why, but there was a resolv.conf indicated as "broken link", and a resolv.conf.backup...
So I came in sudo, changing the 1st in .bkup & 2nd in .conf, then sudo systemctl restart networking, et voilà!
