I take it you know that the free storage of 50Gb is only in the first month ...... after that it goes down to 15Gb.
If you have more than that those files will become inaccessible.
You can for $5/mo get a cheap VPS that you can use as a file server.
@triantares actually does this, but he self-hosts (no VPS).
Last time I checked, I don't think that is the case.
I think it's like Google, where if you remove your paid storage, your drive will just become write-protected.
It would be a PR NIGHTMARE if they tried to pull that.
I would just like to notify that the problem is not totally solved by uninstalling the thunar extensions for megasync and dropbox. It still abend but only the first time I open thunar now. I lose everything, get disconnected and after relogging back it doesn't abend anymore. I can open thunar and close it many times and it doesn't abend anymore ????
I don't have this problem on any other environment where I have thunar installed.

Which might be due to thunar starting the daemon in the background.
The point is that nobody else running Elive seems to be having this issue with thunar so chances are that it's all down to your specific installation i.e something got messed up....so a re-install might be a consideration.
reinstall ??? Over my dead body !!!
I will find out what's wrong with my installation.

I tried to manually start the daemon before starting thunar and it still abend.
So I'm puzzled about what is the trouble ???
