so just press "esc" or "cancel" in the selection of the language and it will be not touched then you can configure the keyboard without touching the language, is this not exactly what you are mentioning?

That is terrible UX, rename the cancel button to "Skip" and make the "cancel" button actually exit the script.

A suggestion, just for the browser: why not Brave Browser? Core on Chome, ad-less, track-less, TOR option..?

I'D recommend it as an option but nto the default. IIRC it does a lot of crypto stuff, which is controversial
