Before you ask, yes, I have gone thru the entire SANE project list.
I need recommendations based user experience, please. I want something that I know is going to work for certain before I buy it.
BTW I notice that Epson has just released new Linux drivers on Jan 31st, 2019. Does anyone have experience using these drivers? I am leaning towards Epson for this reason but again, looking for user experience.
Not really a portable scanner but my Canoscan lide 300 works out of the box in Elive 3 with “simple scan”. My all-in-one BrotherDCP 1510 printer/scanner needed drivers from Brother but do work with simple scan and “xsane” too. Mustek and HP devices generally work too without hassle.
