May 21, 2024

The Elive Team is pleased to announce the release of 3.8.42 This new version includes:
  • SecureBoot: Enhanced support and compatibility.
  • Installer: This version includes many bug fixes and enhancements for the installation
  • Debian: Enhanced compatibility, e.g., when installing external software like Tailscale.
  • Nvidia Installer: Bug fixes and support for the latest video cards.
  • Persistence: Multiple fixes and improvements have been made.
  • Emoji: Fully supported across the entire OS.
  • Nerdfonts: Included by default.
  • WiFi: Significant improvements in compatibility drivers for Broadcom cards. Also includes fixes for WPA3 connections.
  • Browser: Default homepage customized by Elive.
Notes from the Developer:

64-bit Downloads: We are brainstorming and restructuring the versions to make them more accessible. For example, by only providing the direct download of the 32-bit builds and not the 64-bit ones, we had limited some users if they had computers with Secure Boot enabled, full RAM utilization, or having EFI system issues. Our goal is to provide easy ways for people to get and use Elive freely while still sustaining the project through donations.

Haha yes it still alive since 2005  when it was the first time you tried it?

The version 3.0 is the one that offers the best experience if you want to try it (only in old hardware since its a very old build with old drivers), new beta's includes a different desktop but the next step is to work in the new desktop to have a similar experience as 3.0
