How to Icon in Desktop

Hi!
I am new in Linux and Elive, I come from W XP and have a question.

How can I do to get shortcuts to launch documents or programs and foils in screen as wXP?

I have install idesk, but I can not run it, what I am doing wrong?

Check your Enlightenment preferences, you should have probably in the file-manager section an option to include desktop icons
