I would like to be able to run the CNC program called Estlcam in Elive. Is it possible and if so can someone tell me how?
Well, estlcam is a proprietary, paid-for program so you will have to follow their install directions and pay for a license.
As it's a .exe file (i.e windows) it might run on "wine" but I have serious doubts there.
There is a program for linux here:
Where there is a "cura" commandline program in the repositories:
cura-engine/stable 1:3.3.0-2.1+b1 amd64
- command line slicer engine for 3d printing
a GUI:
cura/stable,stable 3.3.1-2 all
- GUI G-code generator for 3D printers
or a suite:
printrun/stable 1.6.0-2 amd64
- 3D printing host suite
I use Estlcam for my CNC router under windows with the appropriate licence. I want to get away from windows now that 7 isn't supported anymore but I'd like to continue using software I'm familiar with.
Ultimaker looks interesting though! I had never heard of it before, Thanks!
Ultimaker looks like it only works with their 3d printer! I am using a CNC router that I built myself so I don't think it will help.
The tool itself is "cura", ultimaker is the firm that built it.
I've no idea what it can or cannot do but you can easily install it with the command "api cura" and maybe try out the suite too with "api printrun" ... or install them using the software tool.
It can't hurt trying.
Let us know how they compare as I've got no idea at all.
I thought Estlcam was an iP camera software for linux. I am looking for one
Nope, it's 3D printing.
In general you don't really need IP camera software as its built-in and the camera can be accessed via your browser once the IP address has been set.
Getting off-topic though.
