Keyboard mapping

Hello!

I know someone that began to think seriously about going by Linux, Elive, with old machines...
One of his question is: "What if I have a personal keyboard mapping made under "windowns" (/me calling this **** as that) with MSKLC software?"...
It seems that this tool has some conf' file .klc that can be read with an average editor...
A conversion to xkb (more or less Linux equivalent) is apparently make-able, following this link: http://linux.lsdev.sil.org/wiki/index.php/Conversion_from_Microsoft_KLC
Someone having an experience with that? @Thanatermesis?

The aim is to have on the base of a qwerty, a functional mapping for quite all European languages (except, mainly, Lettonian) & maths...
It looks like:
Euro%20a Euro%20b

Salutations!
