Pulseaudio always there in 3.7.4

I notice when looking at "top" that on my machine pulseaudio is persistently there. It uses 0.7%CPU and 0.3%MEM, which by itself is not that much but ....... I cannot figure out why this is the case.:thinking:

The culprit was the "paused" virtualbox session.

well, pulseaudio is the sound server, without it you don't have sound

in fact you have, using "alsa", elive 3.0 didn't used pulseaudio by default because was not really needed but everyday more applications requires it so... well, more resources "needed" for nothing
