tks for all
Cairo-Dock is really cool and will be appreciated from a lot
But I removed it...
Was missing too much things from my other environment " native 316 " environnement and some features were conflicting.. WIll explain later
NOw customized my station to be ready tomorrow for work ( as I just reinstalled it)
yeah, it is very simple and not so awesome, but at least a dock.
Though it is possible to make it more glamouros, but if I remember right it needs to be done with code,
but am not sure.
Am dealing with Cairo a long time meanwhile, before with Docky; Plank comes from Elemetary Linux, which I hate too much.
Docky is slim and fast, btw.
Com on, you can not get it to live on an i7?
There must be a serious miskonfiguration at your side, here its running as it should do;
no lag or slow drawing on 372_a ...
Try it on your next install then
In doubt, start an app, then click on its icon which appears in the dock and choose
add - keep - or smthg similar and SAVE
well, cairo-docker doesn't looks bad, it takes a few resources but not so much for what it actually does!
The 3.7.3 will include a default good configuration, hopefully lighter, but without missing features, we will need to check how much resources it takes and how much we can free (wasted) ones
aah, thanks for that, seems like it were required to make the trash and the filemanager working!
but... seems like my filemanager doesn't quite works for me, it works correclty for you? more exactly: clickin in the trash opens "rage", trying to open the filemanager (thunar) sometimes opens, sometimes not... wtf
I think that you can configure cairo-dock to remove all the fancy
i don't think that plank can be an option, so i don't see any way to include icons (and of course this will be a pain for the users), its more like... let's call it in an ugly way "useless" lol
THe job than did with CairoDock on 373 is really nice
Presently installing a laptop with 373.
Will play with Cairo...
And the Wizzard that offer to install conky is cool too
Some people know conky for those that don't they'll say wow !
Oooof, ya ... but a bit blown Up
I mean, it is not really ... neutral
may be some will Not like it,
how can you make them understand that all is adjustable by the users gusto....
make sure to install the extra cairo-dock packages that @Rebel450 said on this howto, they were not included by default in 3.7.3, it improves integration (like opening hte filemanager)
you cannot, if you add a message they will not read, if you add a question they will just press "continue", and in all cases, they will complain, just let them play with it lol
suggestions for improvements in the provided conf in 3.7.3 welcome
